Looking for some advice

Congratulations on starting your flying career. I'm a local Denver guy as well (I actually moved there a year and a half ago to open the ATP denver location). As others have said, ATP isn't for everyone but it is an efficient way to get the ratings done as I went from zero time to being at a regional in 2 1/2 years. If you ever reconsider finishing up at ATP and have questions, or just want to talk about flying over a beer let me know. Mainly I just like beer.

Never trust a bald barber.

My years of indentured servitude are over at ATP, I have nothing to gain for signing someone up. I saw some really good pilots go through the program and I saw people wash out, only to end up with a pile of debt and not much to show for it. As I said before, it's not for everyone. Just trying to offer some help/mentoring to a local guy.

Not sure why you thought that was directed at you. It's just a proverb that means to get your advice from a successful and reliable source. In other words, don't take financial advice from, someone who is broke or nutrition advice from a fat person or marriage advice from someone who's been divorced several times.....etc. I'd actually encourage him to meet you face to face since you've "been there and done that." My previous advice stands. Get the PPL first before committing, don't pay up front, and take time to enjoy the process.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. There is some great advice in this thread including what you said about getting the PPL first before taking the proverbial fire hose to the mouth.

I am 3 lessons in and I'm loving it. Hoping to start flying 4+ days a week soon. Who knows where my aviation career will take me. I'm just going to enjoy the journey.
