Anybody know if prior service counts down against current age? So - for instance - my 32 years would only be seen as 24 because of my 8 years in the Navy...

If not, where is the waiver paperwork...this is government, there has got to be a waiver somewhere... :)

Your actual age is what counts.

Note that this is a Traditional Reservist job.

So, in other words, you still need to have a day job.

I would also like to know how long this is open for. I just need to get my TBAS done, and I'll be good to go. However that wont happen until the week after next. :(

New England has a high cost of living; consider this.

The applications should be open for at least a month (last year they advertised in January and they were due in April; this year won't be as long, but it's not a one-week window or something).

Thread revival . . .

Applications are due in May with a hiring board in June.

We're hosting an open house for potential pilot applicants on April 10th, during our next drill weekend. Even if you aren't considering applying this year but you think it's something you might be interested in sometime down the road, you're welcome to visit.

A few of our pilots will be giving an overview of the mission of the 143rd AW, and discuss the application, interview, commissioning, and training processes involved with being a traditional Guard pilot. You'll get a tour of the plane and have time to eat, visit, and ask plenty of questions. We're also trying to have a flight surgeon on hand to answer any medical questions folks might have.

If you're interested in attending or know anyone who might be, shoot me a PM.
