Hello everyone! I am new to Louisville, KY. I am looking for a local flying opportunity near KLOU or KSDF. At this point as long as it has wings I will consider it! LOL
Any suggestions please PM me or post here! I have 121,135 and 91 time with turbine time and 2750 hours. A majority of my time is MEL turboprop.

Thank you for all of your help and suggestions!

I used to live there but I can't really think of any outfit that really stands out that might be hiring, I can ask a few people though. I know there's a few charter outfits running around but when I was there it never really seemed like they hired anybody.

Off the top of my head I can think of Honaker at KBRY (I think) and KJVY that does charters, and I think it's called ProJets that has a King Air and a couple Lears out of KJVY. I think they have a pretty crappy on call schedule though. There's a company that runs out of Louisville Executive at LOU but I've never known them to really hire that many pilots, and I think they're only running a single King Air. Not too sure about Central American at LOU either but it could be worth looking into. Not really a huge market there (hence part of the reason I no longer live there despite growing up there :P ).

Any questions about the town though don't hesitate to send me a PM. It's not a bad place at all.

Thank you Jordan! I appreciate your responses and recs. I will pop into those operations and introduce myself. Worst case scenario I will re-cert for my CFI. I let it lapse years ago....by a week.....grrrr.
Thinking about Delta Private Jets too. Any insight on them? Other than what people typically talk about.... ;)

Don't have any advice on Louisville but just wanted to say good luck. Glad the move went well and hope the family is settling in. I'm sure you'll find an opportunity soon to get back into flying.

Take care,
Bigs

I have been beating the streets lately and walked into a local 135 operation. The gentleman, chief pilot, told me that they don't hire anyone my age. They get retired UPS guys. I liked his honesty but felt that I would rather be 65 that minute than 36 LOL !

Yeah, I would look into AMF is you're local. There is potentially a 1900 spot there opening up, not sure how they are filling my spot.

Thank you! How were the hours, I know behind the clock, but what I mean is flight time and destinations? Layovers? Thank you!

Chautauqua side of Republic has a base in SDF. My bet is will remain as a 175 base once the 145s are parked. Last I heard, the city was paying for the hangar doors to be modified to fit 175s.

UPS is requiring much hire time than what I have. Would I love to work there! For sure! But in due time.
