I would go for a nice V35 Bonanza with speed mods. Not quite 200knots, but fairly close. Much cheaper to operate than a Baron.
Some of us less fortunate aviator types do not have the advantage of picking the airframe we fly. I am however trying like a sumbitch to nudge the owner into a Matrix. I wonder if Dough will let me change my name then?BEAUTIFUL airplane and thanks for being my proxy.
That said...you wouldn't get an Exec that pretty for $150-$200k. Try $350-$500k.
Now...I know what people are thinking..."Why would you buy that with its oil-dripping radial and stupid tailwheel for the same price that you could have a Cirrus with a safety parachute and glass panel"...to which I'd say...Oh Mitch.
I'm going to take you in a different direction. Take a look at the Cessna Skymaster with the Riley Rocket conversion. The skymaster is an easy airplane to fly and performs well on one engine with the conversion. It's also pressurized and speedy!

Be sure to check out the specs!
Be careful, though, there was recently a wing separation incident on a Skymaster with the Riley Rocket conversion and tip tanks which is probably going to lead to some new inspections and limitations.
For a business single I think a -36 would be a better choice. Three people and stuff could be a CG issue in a -35.I would go for a nice V35 Bonanza with speed mods. Not quite 200knots, but fairly close. Much cheaper to operate than a Baron.
You taking about the incident in NJ where they were likely showboating with a highspeed low pass? Or was there another incident that I missed involving a 337?
No that's the one, but the fact remains it's probably going to lead to some limitations and inspections. Cessna has been pushing for wing inspections on the 337's for a long time.
I guess I fail to see why they would get inspection requirement for an airplane crash, when it is entirely possible the airplane was beyond the safe range for such a maneuver. If it comes out that they were in fact below Va, then I'll buy inspections. But otherwise, I don't think much will come of it.
You've gotta be kidding me.
Paging Waco!
ah hell, I'll throw this out there:

And loud!Get one with 2 garrets in it, then you get 7000hrs between TBOs and it cruises at a speed faster than Tim Martins.
And loud!
You can probably get a King Air B100 for around 200k....but that should tell you something (absolute POS).
