With the new ATP rule coming into effect might be hard at this point. Also age might be a problem. Only 22 years old turning 23 one month after rule goes into effect. Any body know something ???

The way I understand it, even if you were to be hired by a regional right now, you'd be out of work once the new rule takes effect. No grandfathering or grace period for age requirements. If I were you, I'd focus on building your time towards ATP requirements, turn 23, get your ATP, and then go for the regional option if that's what you have your heart set on.

You would have been able to slip in with your age a while back but it won't happen this close to the deadline. You'll have to keep instructing or whatever you're doing now until you get the ATP.

He's close on time, doesn't it seem feasible they could get him the hour requirements (might be close) and just furlough him for a month until he's 23?

I'd recommend flying to 1500 hours, then go to a regional. I'll bet they'll be doing ATP checkrides in training, so if it were me I would not spend my own money on that ATP cert.

Doubtful. Even 1250 is probably pushing it.

Maybe if there really was a pilot shortage but lately there hasn't been a problem filling classes, at least at the airline I work at.

Have you considered 135? Amflight seems to be hiring pretty much always. I think I remember hearing that Airnet was hiring a few weeks ago...

Airnet is hiring but we have a 1 year contract. Is amf less? Wouldnt be a bad idea to do something like that until your 23rd birthday
