My fiancee spilled a cup of water on my MacBook. She is lucky I love her so much. I thought at first the only thing that was screwed up was the keyboard and trackpad. I bought a new upper case and installed it myself (go me!) but soon discovered that something subtle is wrong with the logic board as everything runs 10x as slow as it should. I memtested the RAM and it was fine.

So.... Anyone have a broken unibody (aluminum) MacBook that they want to sell me so I can scavenge parts? I can buy a new logic board but ifxit price for it is like $600.

I've been reduced to having only an iPad for the past month, and while I love it I would really like to have my MacBook back.
 
we have a fully working macbook pro you could purchase if you like! It's doug's old computer, in perfect shape too considering all the traveling he's done. He's asking $800

I'll have to look up all the info on it as he has it listed elsewhere on the interwebs
 
I do have a fully un-functional - not working - Powerbook G4 where the only thing that is actually broken is the power switch. Thus, I cannot turn it on...

Kinda archaic, almost an antique, the technology is over 3.5 years old and was the last model before they went Intel all the way.

I'm going to say it probably doesn't help you with your problem... but, I thought I would mention it anyway.

Apple care wouldn't help?
