Hey all,

I'm curious, what have you guys seen to be the longest "250 nm" cross country? I know a lot of people go home, but does anyone know the farthest anyone has gone to get home?

They won't let you go to Portland if that's what you're asking.

Heh, not I wasn't thinking PDX... I am curious about going to Montana though... Just a thought. :D
Well, you can't go anywhere mountainous... Other than that, if you get it approved, you are good to go. I think St. Louis is in the approved airport list...so somebody must have gone there.

Leo doesn't let you do a lot. If you need an overnight you're only option is Saturday Night. I tried to go down to Illinois (Very Flat) 2 summers ago, but Leo didn't let me.

I am trying to go to KRAP for 323, but with the dang blizzard watch on Saturday, that probably won't happen.:banghead:

I was gonna go to KRAP and Rushmore in 221, but my instructor didn't want to sign me off because the forcasted visibility was less then what UND required. Like TAFs are ever accurate. :panic: Funny how sometimes you can fly through 7 SM vis and other times they won't even sign you off for 8 SM. :whatever: (I was returning during night time though.)

I went to Ashland/Sky Harbor instead but I definitely want to do the KRAP one in 323.

I'm thinking about doing the Rushmore flight. It sounds like it would be pretty fun, along with some different scenery... I hope.

That and Sky Harbor are must dos. Minneapolis would be cool too since it would be kind of fun to fly into Bravo, you're gonna be next to Charlie up in PDX, flight over Minneapolis and into Bravo would be fun before you go back.

Sky harbor? Oh yes!:nana2:

Ha ha awesome pic! I came in from the other end when I was there. Had a helicopter about 500 feet above me passing by to my side, heading to Duluth right when I was on final. It was awesome!!! I'm definitely going to have to go back this summer. Thanks for sharing the pic, looks awesome, and something to look forward to. :nana2:

I think my fav. is going to St-Paul Downtown, go there if you can. Take the Jag out for a bite to eat or something.

Hell yeah. If you look closely in my picture, you can see a helicopter hovering on the taxiway parallel to the runway.
