I left KORL monday on my way to Albany NY (KALB). We stopped in Franklin, VA for fuel (KFKN) since it was 2.12/gallon.
Other than headwinds all the way up it was a beautiful flight. Total flight time was 7:20. We followed the coast until just past Hilton Head then headed inland. I filed IFR out of KFKN because of a 3000' overcast. Also, I was worried about Washington and the ADIZ, etc.
They took us right over the top of Philly at 7000'. It was awesome! Evening view, I saw the old Lagoon motel where I used to crashpad. Brought back memories.
Most of the routings were direct until north of Virginia. Then I got vectored around Patuxnet and Washington. Still, the controllers were very helpful all day.
Tuesday morning we did all we had to do in Albany, flew up to Glens Falls for a quick meeting and got outathere because of the bad WX moving in. We were headed for NORF (Naw-fawk) but had to divert to KRIC (Richmond) due to 100' ceilings.
Nice hotel in RIC - Doubletree Inn. Highspeed in the suites, good restaurant and not too expensive.
Next day had to file to get over the undercast and got knocked around by HEADWINDS and CLOUDS all the way to JAX!
Finally got to Orlando around 630 pm and a C-172 slows down and final and I have to go around. Gaaahhh!!! don't they know I'm TIRED?
17 hrs of flying in 3 days. I'm whipped!
