Longest flights as a passenger:
ORD-HKG in economy, just over 15 hours
SYD-DXB in First Class on the A340-500 ( inaugural flight ) 14 and change
DXB-JFK in First Class on the A340-500 14 and change.
Longest day door to door:
Lots of those:
MIA-DTW-NRT-TPE something just over 24 hours
DXB-HKG-TPE-HUN 24 hours if I'm lucky ( HUN=Hualien )
DXB-JFK-SLC about 24 hours with a 4 hour sit at JFK
In First Class or Business Class the trips are tolerable. In economy they are not, just miserable.
I also used to do LAX-ZRH-JED with a night stop in ZRH to break the trip up.
Longest flown as pilot are:
DXB-PER ( Perth ) about 11:30 ( 3 pilots )
SYD-BKK just over 9 hours
BKK-SYD just under 9 hours
MNL-DXB around 8:30
I much prefer the 7 hour legs to Europe and back. 14 hour 2 days. Those are the best, although Perth is a 23 hour 3 day, which makes for an easy month if you get a couple of them.
Lived in Taipei for 3 years and have eaten most of the street food. Never had a stomach problem there. I still won't try chicken feet or stinky tofu though.
