Well I made it over to London after a long 30 + hours of traveling. Routing ended up being BGR-CVG spent the night there, Then flew CVG-ATL in the morning, and met up with a friend there, then ATL -LGW last night. I will be here through the 8th then it is off to Dublin until the 13th. I will have pictures when I come back. I did not bring my computer (one less thing to deal with). I am here in an internet cafe now. Stuff does not seem that expensive, but when you thing that it is almost $2 per pound ($1.83 to be exact) it adds up quick.

This was my first time across the pond on my own, and to tel the truth I was a little aprehensive about coming over. But I am all set now.

Remember to look *the other way* when crossing the street!

And old ladies are cranky. They're liable to tell you to "PEEES OFF!" if you ask them for directions! :)

Good advice, when I was living in London, I had a couple of close calls for not looking "the other way", but looking the way we're used to.

About the cars thing, what gets me more is that the drivers are in the wrong sode of the car. It just seems like the cars are coming from everywhere. I am more of a fan of getting off the "beaten path". Spending 2 hours in a group of camera weilding asians is not my idea of fun. Those guys get dangerous. I swear they see more of the back of the camera than what they are trying too look at.

I will just say that copious amounts of beer and a boat dont mix too well and leave it at that

Most places in London have which way to look written on the ground.
e.g. "Look Left"

Well Its been raining the past 2 days now. Blech. Well I went to mass at st. Paul's Sunday morning.....WOW.

Imperial war museum was yesterday and the British Museum was today. Both Rival the smithsonians in DC. and are both must sees. I have also had my fair share of fun in the "hole in the wall" pubs all over the city. One is RIGHT next to the Hostel. Sweetness!!!!!
 
I'll be in London April 10 - 15!

I really want to go Museum hunting... anymore ideas? I've been there once before but I was 15 and it was part of a tour group.
 
It bears repeating: Phantom of the Opera

It's showing at Her Majesty's, has been showing since October of 1986.

Mon-Sat at 19:30, and matinees on Tues and Sat at 14:30

Even if you've never had any interest in theater, you must see this production.




I'll also put in a plug for Windsor Castle. You need to get out of the city a bit, and this is an excellent place to visit.

1) Science Museum
2) MOMI (Museum of the Moving Image)
3) New Tate Gallery
 
make sure you hit ANY pub there... they're all good!! you'll notice the guiness has a completely different taste (no bitterness). best stuff besides Kilkenny...

Did you see the big spire yet on the main drag? I can't remember what the road is called but it's where they hold the big St. Patty's day parade and all... pretty cool!!

there's not too much to see around Dublin - typ. city.. most of hte sights are over on the west side of the island.
