Logging Night Time

All of my traffic watch flights for the past few months have been like that. TO at 4pm LAND at 7pm

Be careful regarding your night currency...remember, it's not just 3 full-stop night landings, you need to have the takeoffs as well.

Just to throw even more confusion into the pile, you can log night time with a passenger and not be current. You are able to fly up to but not including one hour after sunset with a passenger. That time includes roughly .5 hours of logable night time.

Honestly I have never really paid attention to when "civil twilight" was other than for currency.

If I need a flashlight to see, its night in the logbook.
Really. What are they going to do. "Welllll... I see you logged some night time. Let's go back and see when you actually landed... oops. According to Flight Tracker you actually landed when it was not legal to log night time. 90 day suspension."
Of course I also log night time when my eyes are closed. That's at least .2 every flight when I either doze off or when I become so scared I can't watch.
