Just to throw even more confusion into the pile, you can log night time with a passenger and not be current. You are able to fly up to but not including one hour after sunset with a passenger. That time includes roughly .5 hours of logable night time.
Really. What are they going to do. "Welllll... I see you logged some night time. Let's go back and see when you actually landed... oops. According to Flight Tracker you actually landed when it was not legal to log night time. 90 day suspension."
Of course I also log night time when my eyes are closed. That's at least .2 every flight when I either doze off or when I become so scared I can't watch.
