Logging dual given

Is it required to log each individual flight in my logbook, or is it appropriate to make an entry for each student?

The training I do is fixed-length programs covering 4-5 flights, and I would like to make one entry for each student, describe the program, then log all the time spent training that student. I can't find any reg contrary to doing this, but don't want an interviewer to have an issue with it later on.

I'd think you'd want to log each flight the standard way, since you may do different events in each flight, you may do some landings or shoot some approaches, etc.

Unless each and every flight is the same with each student in those 4-5 hours, I'd personally stick to standard logging. Back in my traffic flying days, the flights were about the same every day, maybe a 0.1 difference here and there, and some night here and there, but I still logged them flight by flight for standardization sake and so I can present logbooks later in life that all had the same format.

That's just me.
