Logbook rewrite?

Hey all long time lurker, first post.

So I think I want to re-write my logbook. Why? Well my current log book is one of those small, private pilot ones, (had to hijack dual given column for my turbine time), and overall its kinda a mess inside, different color inks (i used red ink for two months in the middle of it, don't ask me why), white out in allot of places, ect. Its just overall unprofessional. As I'm starting to move into a more professional phase in my flying career, and a bit older/wiser(maybe)/better handwriting, I thought it be a good idea to rewrite everything in a nice big pro-logbook. Cut out and paste all my endorsements from the back of the old logbook into the back of the new one.

Is this gonna look shady or in anyway have a negative impact on me?

Also, during my private training when I was receiving dual, the instructor has to sign on the log entry, as you all know. So I haven't really figured out how I'm going to rewrite that stuff.... cut out and past the entire page into the new logbook?

Anyways, all of your inputs will be appreciated.

Dave

Don't rewrite your logbook, just start a new one. You do not need to transcribe the endorsements or even carry your logbook unless you are a student pilot. Personally I leave mine in a fire proof safe unless I need to bring it to the airport for some reason. If you want something to take with you as you travel on the road you can get one of the mini-log books for tracking your time, then transcribe the times when you get home.

Im on my 5th logbook, there is no way I would rewrite my first logbook even though it probably looks worse than yours. I would put it all in an electronic format. If you wish to print it off after its in an electronic format for an interview, then feel free to do so. Its so much easier when you have thousands of hours to tell Insurance companies the exact times they want (like how many hours of Instrument time do you have at night in a Cessna 206) If you have an electronic logbook.

don't rewrite...my first log book has several pages X'ed out...no joke...recruiters know that it won't be pretty your first logbook

...and maybe a wee bit more anal :D

Go for an electronic one.

I think the small Jepp ones are ideal, just start another one. And use an online one as well to do the math for you. My one pet peeve with PPL-Jepp-books? They took the "Dual Given" column and replaced it with a "Solo" one. What a pain, I need to cross it out whenever I start a new book.

Go for an electronic logbook. I take a printed copy of logbook pro to interview, and it hasn't been an issue. Much easier to look through that than a book you've carried around for years.

+1 for the electric logbook option. You will find lots of extra flight time due to math errors (at least I did). You can sort your flight time, track currency, and print/organize your time in anyway imaginable. It looks very professional when its printed on nice paper in a high quality binder. And its MUCH easier to back up and keep a copy of it.

You forgot "inverted."

About to interview at a regional airline with an electronic logbook accompanying my paper sentimental/endorsement copy. A lot of folks I talk to seem to do it that way. I personally like the ASA Pilot Master Log. It's quite adequate.
