Logbook Review

I interviewed at Pinnacle in March 2008. At the time, they were hiring just about anybody with a Multi Commercial and a pulse. I had 1900 hours and a previous type rating. When we got to the logbook review, the person looked up at me and said "I can only verify the fist xxx hours of your flight time." I panicked. I was unemployed at the time as my previous company had gone bankrupt. I was thinking it was because a good portion of my time was flying survey and that there would be no real record of it.

It turned out that I just hadn't signed more than a few of the pages in my logbook. I was given time after my interview to sit down and sign each page. I had to show them the signed pages before leaving.

Mine sucks. As in no entries since 1995, despite full time flying the whole time. One of life’s regrets. I have printouts from employers.

That could be taken care of quite easily with an electronic logbook.

The last entry in my handwritten logbook is 2011. My big interviews were in 2014 and 2018, and I just showed them the electronic logbook version of the supplement, in a binder form. No issues whatsoever.

Last time I updated my logbook was in 2011, when I filled out the insurance application for my Bonanza.

My theory is that they're just using logbook review as a source for things to talk about in the interview.

The one thing that *every* airline interview I went to (except Compass, @ClarkGriswold ) asked about was the 2.0 I have in my logbook of dual in the P-51.

Out of the tons of other interesting flying in there, the one airplane I have a whole two hours of dual in is the one pilots always wanted to talk about.

That seems ridiculous. There’s no requirement to sign it.

Not a word was said about my logbooks during my recent interviews. If it’s well put together I doubt you’d hear anything.
