LogBook Pens

Logbook? Umm, hey Doug, what's a logbook? I haven't seen my logbook in the last six years and three moves. Seriously. I usually just add up the days flying on a bar napkin with anything I can get hold of. Borrowed lipstick works pretty good. Have a shoebox full of them. Lord help anyone who wants to audit them!

That's my pen of choice. No water-based pens! One spilled water bottle and your log entries can be toast. BTDT

Another vote for the F-402 here, but they're kind of hard to find around here for some reason. The G-2 does just fine too.

Remember those pens where you click the switch for whatever color you want.. perfect. Depending on how much I like my students it ranges from red to black... days where they try and kill me are red.. blue if they get on my nerves.. green if I feel like it and black if its none of the above.

Pilot G-2 05 Fine point. Black.

None better... It's the only pen I can use.

Your students logbook must look like a rainbow

Over time wont pencil fade/smudge? Talking over decades...

After its been in pencil for years, would you ever go back and re-write it in pen? If its not changed in that long, may as well be in pen.

black ball point pen always here for the official flight logs. i use pencil for the totals columns at the bottom. that way if i make a systematic totaling error, it's easy to correct. the actual flights are the real 'logs' for flights anyway for those who worry about the use of a pencil not being considered 'official'.

:panic:That's very smart.

I am going to suggest this for my students from now on, especially once they become responsible for logging their time.
