Logbook one-liners?

Slushie, you're a comedian. Thanks for the laffs.:nana2:

True story: One of my CFIs, a highly regimented Asian, ex-Fortune 100 accountant, used green-out. He was so meticulous in accomplishing his goal of blending it so perfectly on the page that it was near impossible to tell there had ever been a mistake. It was frustrating to watch because it took him about 10 minutes per box. Of course, he also was an expert in entering small numbers in perfect handwriting.

Even though, he was one heck of a cool guy.

  • Pen for line entries
  • Pencil for totals
  • Page audit any time totals are calculated (comparing my excel logbook, trip book, and company's records)
  • Logbook audit every two months
  • If an error is detected during the two-month audit, the next available line is used as the one-line correction entry.

Or at least that's how I roll.
Learned well you have, young paduwan!

Great, thanks for the help. Another question, call me dumb, but if/when I start with a new logbook what do I do about the entries that the CFI signed for? Just add them in with the CFI's signature?
I have to ask - what makes you think you need to do anything with them?

I gave up on totals in my paper log (along with signing the pages) altogether. If someone insists on a signed page, I run a total in my e-log, pencil it in and sign the page to make them happy.
