Local Freight Question

Dude, you guys came down yesterday to cover the Caravan because of the fog. You should've seen the fit that the jet lead ramper in his golf cart threw when there were extra Airnet planes on the ramp. Whine, whine, whine. He said we were soo lucky that there wasn't anything going on at Jet at 1:30am. That's what over 50k a month in rent at Teterboro buys you. Kenny told him if he didn't like it to close his eyes, and it would all be over in two minutes.

There's a lot else. 50% of the time you call for fuel you get it; you have to search 15 minutes for your plane, and it's always blocked in. Fuelers never clamp the static line to the plane when pumping gas. You can't ever post-flight because Jet drags your airplane away in the morning with you sitting in it. I could go on further but I would just start to get pee-oed so I'm going to stop the rant.

I want to slightly alter my earlier statement, I really enjoy the flying I do out of Teterboro except for the Jet employees that I have interacted with. Sorry Double-D, but they've earned it.

there is no need to apologize. I take no offense to it, I know how rampers can be. Who is the lead at night, I work the A shift (7-3), I only know one guy from that whole shift. And it's not you guys, I'm not part of the line, our dept falls under them, but we don't deal with the airplanes. Sorry to hear your gripes though, tell Kenny to take it up with upper management, hopefully that'll do something, just don't mention my name! haha. I need to keep this job for a while, for me it isn't a bad gig.

Hopefully it gets better for you.

In the middle of the night they don't seem to be too bad (then again I'm not based there - I don't have to hunt the grounds for my plane!)... but after day break once all the jet guys get there airnet props really get put on the back burner. Forget about getting fuel - not sure why either - just from the looks of the place we seem to be the biggest buyer of 100LL. It's not like I'm asking for Jet A.

It is so nice walking into an FBO, having them offer cookies to us, fresh coffee, etc. (not hide them), and take very good care of us. Now, there are some exceptions (JZI just sucks), but for the most part, it really is a "night and day" difference. It's sad to see first-hand.

I do still miss the freight dawging, though (not STP in the winter);)!!!:D

I dont think the LL truck is manned at all times. We only have one LL truck and 5 or 6 Jet A trucks, but this isn't the first time I heard this complaint. I was talking to a guy that has flown there numerous times and had problems getting LL in a timely fashion.

On behalf of Jet Av. I am truly sorry. heh.

Sorry to the original poster for taking the thread into a different topic than what was originally intended.

The only problem I ever had at Jet was the "yeah we're blocking this area off for the plane that's leaving in 5 hours" even though we'd be completely done with the meet within 5 mins. Well, that and the time smiley the ramper put a hole in the wing with the fuel nozzle.
