Local CFI in Boulder, Colorado arrested for Jan 6 Capitol Breach

You can’t eat into Canada with a history of felonies.

Besides, Global’s been largely deemed useless. Either you really don’t need it in some airports or in the airports that you do, every novice flyer is jamming up the process.

Kinda like Precheck or Clear+ now.

It works for me but maybe I’m niche. So much better than European borders.

It’s not that it doesn’t work, but once it went mainstream, it really lost a lot of benefit, but not everywhere.

The crew line is 3x as fast at GE in Detroit
Helpful in LAX and SEA
Passable in ATL
OK in MSP

I really haven’t been through any other US gateways recently.

Now on the international side, PVG has the smoothest and fastest customs experience. Once you register in their system, it’s basically passport to read the RFID, thumb, magic door opens then to the hotel bus — literally seconds. And before anyone freaks out at the RFID read and thumbprint, it’s literally the same thing if you cleared customs the traditional method. Except without the human interaction that slows down the process.

IAH has the worst global entry in the galaxy.

In Punta Cana they just waive you through everything. Bag check, x-ray, and customs.

Isn't that the mobile passport app? I think anybody can use that one.

Different things. Mobile Passport gives you a QR code to scan. They are supposed to still verify the information you provide. Global entry gives you a green box on your phone that you show them and they match it with the approved list on their screen (sometimes) and then wave you through.

Interesting. I will have to look at that.

Strangely the place I found Global to work well, JFK. Smile for the kiosk, 99% of the time waived on through, I never saw a line, 30 seconds and out the door. Then I came back to DTW...

Same for Newark. Easy-peasy go right through.

In ATL Global is a must. Half of the agents there don't believe there should be an actual crew line so they just have you queue up in a line marked "crew" but then sequence you in between passengers. It takes ages to go through like that

Get the Global Entry app. Take selfie. ???? Profit.
I was going to say, while reading through this thread. Surprised folks don’t use the Global Entry app.

Like you said, I take the selfie in the jet bridge coming off the plane (good for 60 mins), show up to the global podium and get waived right through.

Even in in IAH.
