Living the dream part III

These kind of things...tend to work themselves out.
In the presence of adequate supervision, you betcha.

I don't wear my hat until I get off the van at the airport, and I don't wear it after I get on the van at the airport going to the hotel. Some people don't like the jacket? I know a few times I've been standing outside waiting for the van and its cold so I pull the Columbia out of my bag and put it on until the van gets there.
Pretty sure that I'm to look the "look" while in the public view.

Speaking of vans.... what is up with everyone expecting the van to leave 10 early, like thats the van time? 9 minutes to the true van time and everyone gets extremely anxious. Quite comical.

It's not about the hat. It's when my copilot had a Northface on, no tie and had all those clip on bags like a flight attendant who lives in the crew lounge on the way to the airport.

Dang it, I screwed up the Office Space quote. Oh well, here's the Bobs.

van time is van time, i don't understand why this is such a hard concept to understand. If you want me there 5 min prior, make 5 min prior van time.
It's a good chance the crew prior got suckered into waiting an extra 10 mins because the van company only sent 1 vs 2 vans like they were supposed to.

I hate that on the way to the hotel.

"Oh, we're waiting for the Atlanta flight, they should have been right behind you" and then you see on FlightAware that they landed five minutes after you boarded the vs.

RDU is bad like that.

last trip we had 3 pilot crews on the van from the LAX hotel to the airport....i thought it was supposed to be 1 van per crew?

You sound like the passengers who stroll up to the gate at departure time and expect to walk right on board only to discover the door closed and the jet pushing.

Like the sign on the gatehouse counter says, "All ticketed passengers must be onboard 10 minutes prior to departure."

Just a heads up if you're flying with me. Show up AT van departure time, the first time, I'll wait for you and we'll have "the talk." The next time it happens, we're leaving AT the set time, regardless if you're strolling out of the elevator.

As far as international flying, you'd better be downstairs 10 minutes prior, because you're going to need to check out and that takes time.

You may think that I'm being a dick. I'm sure I am, but I don't care. I've decided I no longer care about anyone else's feelings.

Nah, I don't think that's a thing.

Maybe it is, I don't know!

you sound like captain happy. If the van leaves at 0800 i'll be on it to leave at 0800. There is no reason for me to be there at 0750. As soon as we have 'the talk' for me being on time, I'll laugh at you to your face and walk away.

Perfectly fine to walk away. And we'll be parting ways the next time we touch a hub as a new FO comes out to replace you.

Again, I'm a very easy going person. There are only a handful of rules the company wants us to comply with. It really is an easy job, but I get the feel g you're one of those people who wants to make it hard for everyone. I hope I'm wrong. People tell me you're a nice guy. Hopefully this is just some internet bravado on you're part.
