Unfortunately, 27.1 changed ... something. It's gotten a bit wonky.

You and most everyone else. Carry on.I fail to see the problem here.
You and most everyone else. Carry on.
Do explain.
I, too, have experienced this, including a slightly-alarming GP to nowhere.Heh, like last night when VNAV decided not to path... Or respect any of the altitudes in the box on the approach. Click click... Time for pilot stuff.
I'm not a fan of silent configuration changes.Do explain.
Not even going to apologize...I HATE it when my speed breaks. I mean, I have to take it into the Speed Shop and get it fixed (and getting an appointment is always hard) and they always charge me an arm and a leg.
Or did you mean brakes?
I'm not a fan of silent configuration changes.
No.Worried you're going to overspeed the flaps in the push?
"INDIFFERENT SHRUG/WAVEOFF RECEIVED, FLAPS..."At my shop you don't even touch the flap handle until it's called for and especially not when you're being pushed.
But flaps 1 is hardly any drag. 2 sure, but 1 not so much.I'm a flaps 1 kinda guy. More drag, less noise, doesn't shake the plane as much. And we don't have "spindles" anymore on the NG. If Boeing didn't want you using flaps 1 for drag why does VNAV automatically lock into geometric when as soon as you select flaps?

Getting bent out of shape about people doing something their SOP allows them to do... Or people not following another airlines SOP is... Well.. Odd.No.
"INDIFFERENT SHRUG/WAVEOFF RECEIVED, FLAPS..."
(it is impossible to "steal" industry best practice.)
Before you were on the E-Jet, it was challenge and response; I much prefer this approach for a smattering of reasons, some of them good.Getting bent out of shape about people doing something their SOP allows them to do... Or people not following another airlines SOP is... Well.. Odd.
In the "old" SOP it was worded that flaps were put down on pushback....not sure why or their reasoning but that's Mecca wanted it. Now it just says you "may do certain flow items in the push, including flaps" or verbiage similar. Guess people couldn't break the habit, but they are still technically within SOP.....You and most everyone else. Carry on.
Tell that to 90% of the captains I fly with. They can't get their damn hands off the flap and gear handle until I call for it! In my year at the airline, that's one of my biggest pet peeves. I know I'm still new but I kind of know how to fly and when to add gear and flaps. At my shop you don't even touch the flap handle until it's called for and especially not when you're being pushed.
Wait, oh crap, I gave a perspective based on the company I work for, cue up the haterade from @Seggy and @Cherokee_Cruiser
