Live Stream of 1st 787 flight

I bet the CEO of Boeing included a letter to the pilots on board that said in big bold letters "NO ROLLS"

Hopefully they aren't. it would be pretty boring unless you wanted to see an endless stream of AS 737s land.

BFI would be a better bet to see some 787 action.;)

Well according to Fox News they were landing at KSEA, wonderful media giving me that perfect information once again!

Well...there is talk of a big announcement coming within the next week or so. :D

I've heard AirAlgeria, Tomcatter, and butt are all planning on buying some and sailing the coast of Algeria on a navy boat talking about how unsafe this aviation thing is.

according to the Boeing rep who was speaking on the live feed, there was no guarantee of where they will land. the pilots had several options depending on the current weather at the time of landing. the airport they intend to land at of course is BFI. guess we'll find out when they stop flying in circles :D

I guess you cannot really blame the reporters...as was said earlier they cannot have any dead air you have to keep talking, silence might scare people away, or confuse them...you have to keep the sheeple entertained at all times...thinking for ones self is not an option!

Ah ok, will be interesting to see where he lands. Well that was a "confirmed" thing they said. Oh well, the lamens don't care anyway.

Does anyone know the aproximate time that they should be landing, and i am assuming it will be broadcasted through the live feed just like the T/O was.

Congrats to Boeing!:rawk:

They said it could be anytime up to 5hrs after departure so no one really knows for sure, probably whenever they accomplish whatever they were supposed to do. Estimated time was 12:50PM PST... so in eight minutes, don't see that happening, but it appears they have turned south towards BFI.

Anyone on here know what exactly they test during a maiden flight like this? It'd assume basic flight maneuvers, stalls, emergency procedures, flight system checks...any insider info though?

Nice landing... great job today Boeing, I look forward to hearing what the pilots have to say.

One of the pretiest landings I have ever seen. Of course, I imagine not just anyone can get a gig as a test-pilot for Boeing.

I know full motion sims are really great, but its still cool to think about the fact that neither of these guys had ever flown that type plane before, and man they made it look so smooth!

Good Job!!!

Having every active Boeing ACs type rating plus a few old piston ACs helps:

Type Ratings

A/A-320 A/B-247 A/B-307 A/B-737 A/B-747-4
A/B-757 A/B-767 A/B-777

Limits

B-247 (VFR ONLY). <----:D

Good job Boeing engineers and flight crews! Can't wait to fly on one.

Here comes profit sharing again!

The spokesman said they had 10,000 telemetrics and 1,000 were going to be monitored. From what I understand the cabin was filled with rows of computers and servers recording data and sending it realtime to the boeing facility 45 minutes south of where it took off.

Also heard/read somewhere that emergency procedures and more testing is undergone at the boeing facility where its at now for the next 9 months while it continues to go through certification.
