I have searched through the forums and I think this is the headset that I want to get, but I'm not quite sure. If you have used this headset I would appreciate it if you told me whether you like it or not and why. Thanks!

Do you wear glasses (i.e. for seeing, not sunglasses). If you do, I wouldn't recommend them - I use the 25xl's (pretty much the same thing) and I get a bigger headache from them than from my DC 13.4's. They clamp your head even though they are "ANR".

Also, I only noticed a difference when using them in piston twins - in singles the DC's seem to work better (and even better still if you use ear plugs as well).

I picked up a pair of refurbished 25xl's for $358.00 including shipping from the lightspeed website. No problems in 6 months of 5 day a week, 6-8 hours a day flying.

If you're flying cessnas, stick with the DC's IMO, or go for broke with the Bose

I have a pair of 20XL's, and I get a buzzing noise sometimes (particularly on climb-out) from the ANR and it only happens in the twin. I sent them in and Lightspeed replaced a bunch of stuff, but it still does it.

BTW, Lightspeed was very good with their customer service. My set is waaaay out of warranty and they serviced it, including new ear seals and other parts, for free.

Well just a little update. I got the Lightspeed's in the mail today and they fit like a dream! I've honestly never felt a headset so comfortable! I haven't tested them in a plane yet, so we'll see how that goes.
