If by communication meaning calling me 2x a week to ask when I wanted to sign up. Was really off-putting, even when I gently told the guy that I'd get back in touch when I was ready.

My old insurance was lapsing soon after getting a quote from them. From my perspective it was a smooth process as I needed it and they were the best rates for me at the time.

*Not condoning their repeated calls in your situation just sharing my experience

I just called PIC spoke w Dan Cook. Very good service, quote was much less than my standard agents quote without flying restriction most importantly

For 1 million/15yr from PIC I'm looking at $350/mo. That's a 3500ish hour ATP ME/SE with a history of cancer 10yrs ago and a 2nd class without a special issuance. Pass.
