I’m curious:
  1. Are these delivery flight relatively desirable during bidding?
  2. Can company employees non-rev on them just because?

1.
The time: They just pop up.
The clock: Whenever they’re estimating delivery, they’ll build a biddable trip out of a base like DTW-AMS-TLS (layover) then TLS-NRT-DTW that anyone can bid. Some lucky pilot gets awarded the trip and then it’s immediately ‘bought’ and a call goes out to flight standards pilots to pick up the jet.

2. Unfortunately no. I tried to get @Kristie on it but they wouldn’t budge. Once upon a time, you could because it’s nothing more than a “Part 91” flight, but you can’t take them on delivery flights, only non-delivery part 91 flights.

Which is dumb, I’m probably stuck here until Christmas and it’d be cool to fly her out for a few days and then take her home.

Shot dispatch a note asking about their plans with the Russian Invasion, inability to penetrate their airspace and some of the ‘Stans

I may have missed something but why not go east? We do CDG-NRT/KIX at about 13 hours block.

I don’t know.

Our plane is down until the 24th so maybe it’ll change before now and then.

Today is breakfast and working on a day trip or even an overnight somewhere else in the south of France.

Have a friend who offered me his condo in NCE for as long as I want it, but I don’t know. Everywhere without an EasyJet or train ride I’ve already been.

Hold up. Did you do the notes on the picture you sent her or is there actually a way to do notes on the map page of FDpro?

Deliveries are not regular flights. There is a cost to overflight permits and red tape to obtain them. Some countries dont allow them for ferry flights or heavily restrict them. There are also tax and other issues that can arise if a delivery flight lands outside the delivery country.

Overflying Greenland and Alaska to Japan reduces the complexity of permits in the Stans and China.

I hated 24 hour layovers when I was flying long haul stuff. I’d rather do a 12 hour, or at least 36 hour.
I preferred 24 hours or something that is a multiple of 24.

30-36 hour overnights usually translate into nasty double night flights. That results in one night of good sleep over 3 nights. Not worth it IMO.

Looks like a great experience - hope any delays didn’t disrupt your holiday plans too much. Any idea when (if?) the ipad will replace the Dell?
