letter to FAA stating I passed an alternative color visio exam

I took the Keystone color vision test in January but have delayed applying for my FAA medical due to financial reasons. How long do I have to apply before the January test is no longer accepted? Thanks.

It needs to be done at the time of the medical exam.

Since I have to go to an optometry school to take the alternate color vision test before I go get the medical exam (and bring the letter to that), I'm not sure what you mean by saying they must be done at the same time.

It must be current, within 30 days of the medical.
