legal question

My license was suspened for not fully paying a speeding ticket, for which I included an origional late fee in my check, but was unaware additional charges had accrued. However I didn't know about it until I was pulled over two days ago. I never recieved a notice of suspension in the mail from the county the speeding ticket was issued in. If anyone knows what legal steps I can take to have this charge dismissed I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Call a lawyer. Nobody that is actually qualified to give you legal advise will do so on a public aviation forum.

The charges won't just be dissmissed, but if this is you're first offence, and you have paid up all the fees now, generally with, or without your laywer you will show up before the judge with every other traffic offender. If they are satisfied with your actions, they may order a continuance for a year, then drop it if nothing else happens, reduce it, or order you community service. Hope for the first!

Also might want to add, an arrest on your reccord is not nearly as bad as a guilty conviction, so try to avoide that obviously

Curious, when you were pulled over, were you arrested for driving on a suspended or cited for it by the officer (or even, was nothing done, by officer discretion)?

No i was not arrested. The ticket is a misdemenor offense in MN, and because I never recieved a letter notifiying me of the suspension he didn't arrest me.

Was just curious, as the legalities for that vary widely from state to state. Good that that portion worked in your favor at least.
