D'oh, CRUNCH! I'm gonna go out on a limb (yuk, yuk) and say that was put there by mother nature.....not a flying accident. But, that's just a guess, I have no official knowledge of the situation.

A picture of that was on Avweb's pictures of the week . . . last week. . . or the week before. I can't recall.

Something happened on a base to final turn, engine shutdown or something, and well. . . he didn't make the runway.

Looks sorta like a Photoshop crash to me....not a lot of damage considering where it is.

You should see it from the other angle. . .

[Standby for more information].

Fatal?? Can't tell how the cabin looked.

Looks like Meadow Lake Airport near Colorado Springs. Read about this somewhere - I'm pretty sure everyone survived with minor/no Injuries.

I'd have opted for the thousands of acres of open field to the right of the road as opposed to the trees and hangars on left. Thats just me though.

Depends what kinda hangar it is for me, some are soft and fluffy from what I've heard. Trees are a no-no tho...:cwm27:

I was thinking the same thing!

Looking at the picture it almost seems like you would have to go out of your way to to hit a tree.

Naaahhh - think of the tree like a big catcher's mitt. That's what I teach my students, anyway. :sarcasm::)
