Lear 45 anyone?

I could possibly have a chance to fly sic in a 45 for my buddies company. I was curious if there were any 45 pilots on here that could lend some first hand knowledge about the ins and outs or specific items to be ready for when I head to initial in Dallas? Or maybe just some expirence flying the bird.

Dear Texaviator23,

I have flown several Lear models but never the 45. However, my advice to anyone transitioning to the Lear series is to be easy with the throttles, especially once the gear is up and the climb has begun. I flew 20 and 30 series that would routinely peg the VSI through 10,000 feet.

Often when I am training pilots they allow the airplane to get much faster than they can handle. Anticipating the need to reduce throttle is a simple but important step.

I don't fly the 45 either. Do you have any jet or turbo-prop experience? If so, initial should be adequate. You will learn a lot in that 2 or 3 week period. If you don't have any turbine experience, then I don't know what to tell you. It will totally depend on you and your particular skills, learning and abilities. Have fun though!:insane:
