Layover food

Gas station pizza. Only slightly less dangerous than gas station sushi. KGCK. @Cherokee_Cruiser

Not exactly layover food, but since there's about 10,000 pilots and FAs in Kew Gardens, Queens, NY.

There's a new deli that just opened up on the corner of Lefferts and 83rd ave, just across the street from Dani's House of Pizza. It's called His n Hers deli.

Phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal sandwiches.

Pretty decently equipped grocery/bodega setup as well. And open until 2am.

Not really a layover since I was there to visit family, but here's a Pizza Capricciosa in FCO, from Pizzeria Da Remo in the Testaccio quarter. To me they are THE quintessential Roman pizzeria, still making it the old school way and not succumbing to the latest trends. I'll easily rate it my favorite pizza in Rome, and personal preference aside it's objectively in the top 3

@derg want to make a bet what deli meat they use?

Still? After the Listeria outbreak? :)

I still prefer them but you can’t find them in the stores out here any more, since then, the nitrite levels in my blood have cratered since I made a lot fewer sandwiches now.
