Latest Eagle AIP rejected

Please see post #512.

So the stated 4000/1000 requirement now requires some of that time to be 500 PIC? Just curious. I know a dude just hired not long ago with zero PIC and he's 31 years old. He had no internal rec. Perhaps he just got lucky.

Who knows what they are looking for. I meet all the posted mins and have a few internals and can't get a look. They are requiring 500 TPIC 135 or 121 just to talk to them at job fairs.

As I said, they are taking a mix of: people who meet the requirements; those with heavy internal recommendations; and those from the job fairs. To attend the job fairs, one needs 500 hours turbine PIC time. But they are looking for people committed to staying for a while rather than those looking for a free 320 type to move on quickly.

Do you have your stuff in at Allegiant?

So has eagle management stated officially that they are now in the shutingthefeckinthingdown phase?

Just the opposite, actually. Pedro came out the next day and said we're not shutting down and they never meant to. No plans.
Looks like we might shrink a little, but they're trying to keep people from fleeing en mass.

Gee.

Unfortunately Spirit is not looking to hire people who want to jump ship anymore. The only people they are hiring now with ~5 year employment prospects are 50+ year olds from Airborne and others with serious time to upgrade quickly to captain. So, they have an interview process that weeds out those who are younger that want a quick stepping stone. But best of luck to you!
I'm old can you get me an interview?? I like a side stick and loyal to my employer. 8)

Wonder if they will let people in that lack the total time. Saw one that required 4000tt.

It is weird when you meet the "harder" requirements to get but not the easy ones.

Multi-turbine I would assume?

Selective reading at it's best. Go read Pedro's email again. He specifically stated that Eagle will not be shutting down because Eagle is much more than airplanes. He specifically mentioned that the GROUND HANDLING side of Eagle will continue to operate.

His implication is that Eagle will continue to exist as only a ground handling service while shutting down the flying operation.

I'm not saying that they will follow through on that threat, but let's be very clear about what was said and not said in that email. I'm sick of all the hardcore NO voters jumping for joy like they won some major victory thinking the company has admitted that we won't be shut down.

Pedro was subtly threatening the pilots with that email and it was in response to the childish one our MEC put out the day before.

Helpful to have a complete picture. Thanks.

Gee. Sour grapes, much?

You forgot the part where he said 'American Eagle Airlines will remain an airline.'

I get it. You're super junior and reeeeeally wanted the 'enhanced flowthrough'. A March '11 hire is waaaay down the list. (It took all of 30 seconds with google to determine your exact seniority.)

Do yourself a favor- Reread this letter, then go on the ALPA MEC site and reread the 'Protected Pilot' agreement from July of 11. Then go get a message and chill the hell out.

You spreading misinformation because you bought the company's bill of goods does nobody any good now.

Selective reading? He flat out says it- we're still gonna be an airline. PERIOD.

Second, I can see reading comprehension is difficult for you. So I'll hold your hand on this one.

Go to the sixth paragraph. Now follow along:

The ALPA MEC’s statement asking us to provide a timetable for the company's "liquidation" is not something we can provide as we are not planning to shut down the airline. Our ground handling operation continues to thrive and we have added new business and employees there at a rapid pace and will aggressively seek to continue this trend. The MEC’s decision does not change or impact this and opportunities still exist there, but I have no reason to believe American will offer us new large regional jet flying after these unsuccessful negotiations.

Pedro used the word airline to describe the potential ground handling service and it has completely confused you. I hope you don't get this disoriented in IMC conditions.

Whut?

An airline is not a ground handling service. But I give up, whatever you want to believe.
