Latest Eagle AIP rejected

Only time will tell, I guess in a few yrs we can do a side by side comparison. I can't remember any regional with flows in the past who have been in a better position than those without, but who knows. I do know plenty of guys getting hired from all regionals to all majors, LCC etc. While at an airline with flow you are less likely to play the field cause you have more skin in the game. Management would never use that to their advantage, or go back on their word of course!

How long do you project a yr 1 FO to make it to said major?

PSA's process is not "managements word" it is defined very strictly in a binding contract. I'm not saying mgmt would never try to get out of it but it wouldn't be as simple as "Colbert dropping the microphone".

A one year FO today could reasonably be at the major in 10 years assuming NO OTHER ATTRITION. At this time we are losing 8ish a month, which doubles the attrition from the progression agreement. 5 years could be a possibility.

Might want to recheck that. I am hearing United wants to do it the right way, they are just having a problem finding a regional partners willing to work with them. My understanding is if they had a wholly-owned regional it would be up and running. @Seggy anything to add?

I had heard a rumor that UA was in fact trying to get a flow thru with Skywest. But like you said, Skywest wasn't willing to go 15 rounds with them? Or maybe Daddy Delta didn't want Skywest having a flow with UA and threatened them? Don't know. Don't care.

That's what they keep telling us anyway...

Add in that your contract also has them increasing your fleet by 60%. Again. Something other airlines just can't do that plays a huge roll in the concessions the group took.

On paper the PSA contract was not a concession, but it does negatively impact everyone else in the industry.

Well......

I'd say it was concessionary in nature. We just got a little something in return. Management won for sure.

That is my point nobody that has worked with him outside of Eagle trusts him, hell most people at Eagle don't trust him.

I get the feeling that he sits in his basement surrounded by his MREs and canned food with an AR-15 clenched tightly in his hands, waiting for the government to come after him because they found a way to read his thoughts through his tinfoil hat.

Yes, I think so. But the problem is that the guys at the regionals end up unemployed in the process. Since mainline pilots have been such arrogant jerks, there is no pathway for those guys to get the mainline carriers. The younger guys will probably be ok in the long run, but the older "lifers" are left holding the bag, because unless you have some big time connections, no legacy carrier is hiring a 55 year old unemployed RJ captain. This problem should have been solved years ago with the regional guys all having seniority numbers at the mainline carrier, but mainline egos got in the way.
Thanks. Makes sense. Was there realistically any way that a lot of people wouldn't get screwed once the mainline egos sent all the flying on "those little jets" to subcontractors? (I assume that's what you're talking about re: mainline egos and regional guys not having seniority numbers)

Every airline deserves at least one "Knights of Urantia! Cleanse your grid and head to the continuum gates! The quickening is up us." guy.

We've got one. Aye yi yi.

By the way, Charlie, that rep that you're supporting is one of the main reasons you're stuck with Moak right now. During the election, Val went around to all of the candidates bitching about how ALPA is too left wing and aligned with the labor movement, and Moak was the one who kissed his ass by saying that ALPA should be supporting more Republicans and distancing itself from the AFL-CIO and the rest of the labor movement. Val ate that BS right up and spread the word to the rest of the teabagger contingent, and before you knew it, a bunch of new regional votes were in the hands of the guy who couldn't tell the difference between a CRJ and a Piper Cub.

Wait, Lee Moak doesn't have our best interests at heart at the regionals? Say it ain't snow, L.T.!

Edited---- Seriously?!?!? We blank out F O O K?

I do, not "we".

Like "Honey, WE need to clean the cat box".

"When did WE become a synonym for the word I?" :)

Nah, people go all "Simple Jack" sometimes and need the autobabysitter.

It's a shame. There's a difference in being offensive toward someone and making a joke. Unfortunately the auto babysitter isn't smart enough to tell the difference.
