Latest at Atlas?

Just want to say that this Thread has been very helpful. Can anyone tell me about the phone interview?

Thanks ahead of time!

Standard stuff, real low key. A little personal history, a little of why Atlas, a little why you at Atlas, etc…. It is low key, but it is important…..so don't take it lightly. Know a little about the company and why you want to work there. Know their recent past, their immediate future, a little about their financials, their aircraft, their business model/ plan. All standard stuff for any job you want…..not just aviation.

DON'T call from the airport, while you're waiting for your next flight. DON'T do the call if you're looking after a toddler, or a crying baby, or a pet that's crawling all over you. DON'T say things you think they want to hear.

DO have a quiet area and be prepared when you make/ take the call. DO be friendly, sincere, and personable. DO give them YOUR answers to their questions, not canned answers.

Good luck!

You have a base. They buy you a ticket from an airport close to you, your gateway, to your base. This time spent is not considered work or duty

Yes you are free to move somewhere nicer. ;-)

I think I read somewhere that those airline tickets and hotel rooms are considered income, and are thus taxed. Is that still the case?

Can you earn miles for those tickets?

Question 1: True, with caveats

Question 2: yes

buddy of mine is almost done with 747 sim...hired about 2 months ago

he is current AF reserves KC135 (was a nav in the Active AF)

no idea on hiring but he is only 29 and had some connections there.

The last vacancy award (posted 10/15) showed 25 new-hires. 15 ANC 747, 10 CVG 767. Not sure when they plan to fill them, and I'm almost positive there are enough people in the pool to fill them currently. If another award posts this month, it'll come out in a couple days. I'll keep an eye out.
