Friend of mine was hired with no military or jet time. 121 PIC box was checked though.

Apparently a willingness to embrace the ACMI lifestyle goes a long way FWIW.

They were big on that during my interview, and for good reason. Part of you actually needs to enjoy the oddball schedule changes that send you to the other side of the world. Some people absolutely love the adventure of it (and those people are usually called flight attendants), but speaking for myself only, I simply find this line of work fun and interesting. I've got 26 countries in my logbook on 6 continents, and added two new countries on this last trip. Some people like scheduled flying, but I guess I'm a masochist who actually enjoys non-sked. It's easy to burn out, though; I personally start getting cranky at about Day 14. :) You have to pace yourself, and take big blocks of time off when you can get them. Most of all, you have to be okay with trips that take you around the world each and every month, and learn how your own body works in terms of rest and nutrition. I've pretty much become a professional at sleeping. I am amazing at sleeping for hours on the road. ;)

The above is applicable to all ACMI jobs, not just Atlas.

1. What does turbine have to do with "How could he be 121 PIC and have no jet time?" ?

2. Is Cape Air's C402 operations not 121?
