Well guys it's been a fun road, but looks like I'll be taking a break for a while. I'm getting ready to have back surgery for a slipped vertabre and I'll be out of commission for 6-9 months says the Doc. If anyone has any insight into spinal fusions or lamenectomy let me know!

catch ya on the flip side.

That's rotten, man. I asked my mom who is a nurse with a specialty in spinal surgery. She said about the same thing your doctor said. Depending on the condition of your health and the extent of your surgery, it may take several months or more before you are able to return to your normal daily activities.

Spinal fusion increases the time you are in surgery, the risk of complications, and the recovery time after surgery. Recovery and restrictions on activities may last for 6 to 12 months.

Hang in there, man. It's temporary. Remember, your health is more important than anything else. Without good health, you're sort of screwed.

Good luck! I didn't have a fusion, just a discectomy and laminotomy. If you have any questions pm me. Hope all goes well for you.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Was wondering why I haven' t seen you around lately. Good luck and get well.

You get better no matter what you have done!

Remember, you've got a lot of time to fly, but only one body so make sure it's healthy!

Thanks guys.. last day at the office was Friday. Really was weird walking out of there. Surgery is set up for the 23rd at 130pm. Should be there for about 4 days. Just want to be home in time for Easter Dinner !!! I'll try and get back when I can.

Think Lance Armstrong and don't let this beat you. Rise up and only allow the recovery process a couple of months; mind over matter ya know. Good luck!

Good luck and make sure you check back in and update us on your progress!!!

Mind over Matter -> M&M's all the way around!

Keep your head up I had my L4 and L5 disks ruptured and had back surgery. Took a few months off and back to normal kinda. Just take it easy and don't over do anything.
good luck
