Last Colgan Air Flight

Not sure, that's why I said apparently. This is all hear say from 2 colgan captains that were in my crashpad.
completely different mod lines. Interior configurations, system updates, installed equipment. Some of these items bring different MX procedures. Standby hyd. System on the Colgan birds is different etc. Software /firmware and hardware for the fadecs, pec's, hydraulic control units etc may be different.

Not sure how that affects things, but I could see the FAA getting in a stupid twist about it

because the replacement is better?
Don't think the any alluded to that but thankfully a bad chapter in the book of aviation is closed.
Colgan could have stayed in business. Instead its owners wanted out and money. Who can blame them. But we can blame all the people that went there when they had other options. To me Colganites have done the same amount of damage to the industry as any Gulfstreamer or the like.

So.. people that went to fly 1900's on EAS routes like a true regional, rather than going to fly 50 seat jets on mainline routes, taking mainline jobs were more dammaging to the industry than CHQ.RAH,XJ, Compass, freedom, Airwhisky etc? Perhaps it's because those 1900 drivers didn't have MX cancelation pay, or weather CX pay, or shecdules with 15+days off a month. No, must have been the lack of 401k match, or lack of pay raises... oh wait, forgot, 9l actually had that stuff.

One dragon slayed? sure.. only to be replaced by RAH, via undercutting. get it if you don't like colgan, but cheering the continuing the race to the bottom via undercutting? Believe what you like, but, this will only hurt future Q400 pilots. reduced pay rates, crappy work rules, weak representation. They took one of the highest paying q400 operators and replaced them with the lowest paying DH-8 operater in the world. Do you think Horrizon pilots will get pay raises the next time they go to negotiate? I'm glad im out.. but cheering steps backward is just stupid.

You keep putting words in peoples mouths. I merely stated that Colgan was a dirt bag outfit. I never said that any other regional was great. They have their problems too. Mainly ALPA and its continuing drive to appease managements across the country with lower wages. Its the biggest scam going. Aviation in America is well, like the saying goes about the Football Bat...
I hear and see a lot of chest thumping about burning places down, one list, pilots united blah blah blah but until there is one pay scale for one airplane across the nation regardless of the company, pilots will continue to fly more for less. Everyday an airline pilot gets up in his hotel and looks in the mirror and feels tired, hates life or his company, is sad he's gone from his family he should remind himself that he and his fellow employees are their own biggest enemy-and the people that negotiated their contract.
I'd love to see nothing but turboprops doing all regional flying in the US. Its a money making operation. But unfortunately everyone is hunched over trying to cover their excitement at the CRJ1000, EMB170/190 and the coming of Mitsubishi to the regional game. With the current number of bankruptcies and mergers we are all seeing the end of the end. With less competition ALPA is even more ineffective when it comes to negotiating power and you will all see your qol and pay decrease.
I'll be happy to fly the ATR for the rest of my career overseas making more than most "majors".

I was gonna say something to the effect of hanging on to scope, cheap oil prices, paying dues, 9/11, who wants to be based in Jamestown, NY, etc.... but then I found this dead horse outside that I'd rather beat.
