Here's a question I've seen on a few applications.

How many hours have you flown in the last 30, 60, 90 days?

If you're current in all catagories, how much weight does this question have on an application?

Why would it matter the weight? Put what you've flown and onto the next question.

Because they want to know how much you're averaging per month. They may also cross reference it against your answer of "How much do you fly, on average, per month."

So they are using statistics? Well thats real reliable(how many debates have been had on these forums about them). There are some months where I would fly a crap ton, and some months where I wouldn't fly at all. So the law of averages doesn't really work here.

It is part of the application for the job you are seeking. If the question irks you so bad, don't apply.

Maybe it's just a test, to see if you can just follow instructions?

It's a question, on an application. Hardly worth getting bent out of shape over.

I've seen it asked on insurance pilot information questionnaires before (most of them in fact), may they just want to avoid asking you again later. Recent experience seems like a fair thing to ask about anyway.

I agree, that recent experience is a very pertinent thing to ask, and should be asked. 90 days I can understand, 60 days I can understand, 30 days just seems a little overkill. Last month in 30 days I think I flew 4 times(about 15 hours). But the 60 day look was about 35 times(over 140 hours for 60). And the 90 day look was about 45 times(about 165 hours for 90 days). See my point. It's all over the place, not a very accurate gauge if what John says is true.

I'm just taking a stab, that's all. If I was in HR, I'd want some points to cross reference answers.

Just make stuff up so you look awesome. If they inquire about it later, just tell them you didn't fully understand the question. Problem solved.
