LAS closes to corporate aviation

Because I'm not going to sit here passively while folks are taking advantage of the system we have.

Are you serious?

YOU have skin in the game as well. I don't know about you, but I want a modernized Air Traffic Control System. The one we have now is based on 1950s technology. We need an update to the 21st Century. Airlines, including yours, are operating at razor thin margins. I want the safest and most efficient system out there to cut fuel costs as much as possible. I betcha if you look at your airline's financials, you would see fuel costs is the biggest expense. I would hope you would want every avenue looked at to cut down on that expense.

As other Pilot groups 'free loaded' with the ALPA lead on KCM, no one group should be expected to pay for the update on the Air Traffic Control system. Right now, the airlines are being looked at to pay for this modernization of the air traffic control system. Then, they are going to be expected to share it with those that didn't pay into it and aren't. The airlines are some of the most heavily taxed entities out there. They already pay their fair share. Others should as well. Especially those that can afford to go to the Kentucky Derby at 5:00 PM local and then attend a fight in Las Vegas at 9:00 PM local.

Folks on here think they are taking the moral high ground with a stance against user fees. That is a farce. They are necessary to help the infrastructure of the country and solidify the financial situation of companies that many rely on in here.

Won't user fees, be just one more nail in the coffin to GA, but also airline flight training and the profession as a whole. And charge the push toward MPL's? The pipeline is already suffering because of the exorbitant cost to become a pilot, and low pay afterwards mixed with high loan repayment. And 1500 hour rule only made that bad situation worse. Wouldn't user fees also kill schools like Traspac, and the ATCA/Lufthansa school here in Phoenix. And other places in Florida, where Japanese, Chinese and European airlines send their students because GA is essentially dead in Europe, because of user fees?
 
@Maximillian_Jenius the coffin in GA is already closed and buried. Even though @scooter2525 is a professional airline pilot, at a vast majority of flight schools across the country, his insurance requirements are ridiculous. If those schools close shop, not sure how that would hurt US Airlines. It actually may help.

Aren't they already starting the roll out for Next Gen, nationwide? They have here in PHX. PHX,as I'm sure you might know if you flew here before was all old school VOR. Now we finally have RNAV, and more direct approaches and departures to coincide with Next Gen in order to save airlines on fuel.

But in seriousness, I want to do a little reading up on the numbers of how this pans out before I say anymore. Are you for bicycles paying user fees to use roads as well?

After living in Austin, ABSOLUTELY!

Take a look at the fuel costs at your airline. Calculate how just a couple hundred extra pounds saved would help the financials. Then look at the taxes your airline and the passengers that fly your airline pay.

Ask yourself, does the Citation that flew from SDF to LAS on Saturday pay that amount to use up the same amount of airspace your airplane uses into LAS...
