Iran Air Force KC-747, one of two acquired by their Air Force, is still in use as a front line cargo/tanker aircraft, notable in being one of the few 747 "classics", based on the 100 (-131)model, still flying. Seen here in formation with IIAF F-14A, F-4E, and MiG-29 aircraft, the KC-747 uses the same air refueling system as the KC-707/KC-135

Iran also flies the KC-707, nearly identical to the USAF KC-135, with the addition of the wing drogue refueling packages. In the second pic, an Iran Air Force KC-707 is seen refueling USAF F-111A Aardvark strike fighters on a strike training sortie.

I haven't believed anything the Irainians have put out out since this hilarious propaganda picture of their "newest" fighter.

Well, through reverse engineering as well as buying of parts from various sources worldwide, they have managed to keep aircraft like the F-4, F-5 and F-14 quite active, to the shock and surprise of western intelligence groups, as continue to produce aircraft such as the Bell 214 and AH-1 Cobra helicopters.

Another reason why some of our policies in that area particularly with regards to Iran isn't going to achieve much. And Russia is willing to sell them arms, so what does it matter.

Sounds like a couple of hillbilly's fixing grandpa's tractor.

They keep them in good shape, and employ the fighters with older USAF tactics, and the helos with older US Army tactics, so there is that. Pretty professional Air Force, for a middle east AF; darn near resemble 80s USAF/US Army pilots.

I still laugh for a good solid minute when I see this thing. Every time I see it I keep thinking Clint Eastwood is going to dash into the hangar and steal it.

Same propaganda all militaries do. Some believable, some not.:)
