Landing Gear

Hey everyone,

So my friends and I got into a heated argument today in my Aviation class at SJSU about landing gear on commercial aircraft. We were trying to figure out if, on any commercial aircraft, there is such a design as to have the main landing gear pivot on approach (not on touchdown, but actually in the air) so as to help correct for a strong crosswind, the idea being to have the landing gear aligned with the runway on approach so that when you touch down, the aircraft swings around, but the gear is already straight. Does such a system exist?
