Landed my Dream Aviation Job

Just landed my dream job. Murdoughnut is the new Manager of Research and Evaluations for the Hillsborough Aviation Authority. Put simply, I'll manage all consumer related research for Tampa International Airport and have a team of researchers underneath me. Will include a good amount of work with the 121 operators.

8-year old me will be happy to know that I'm finally working at the airport, even though I'm not the guy marshaling the planes. A 54% salary increase over my current position was a nice perk. The coolest thing is that me putting that I was a licensed private pilot on my resume is what I was told caused it to "jump out". Honestly, the knowledge I've picked up related to the 121 world on this site was a tremendous help in the interview.

For those not familiar with my background, I've worked in market research for the past seven years, and opinion research for the past decade. Have a background in survey research and statistics. Those in the airport or aviation management field would really stand to improve their marketability by pursuing statistics as a minor.

Will look forward to meeting up with many of you when you fly into TPA in the future!

Congrats! Nice how it all came together for you and that being a pilot helped out.

You could've been 1 of 3 thugs and a tug brah.

Can you get them to install a turf runway? Perhaps a special area of the airport for vintage and homebuilts?

My first goal is to get them to put in a viewing area. The found it funny in the interviews when I mentioned that I had been questioned by their police force previously for taking photos. The management team is mostly all out of DFW, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're open to the idea.

That's awesome and stuff...maybe you'll get them to install unicorn hitching posts too. But, my questions involved getting turf runways and special parking for vintage and experimentals and you evaded it. What say you?

Edit: Need to know the answer to so I can either congratulate or condemn you. Follow up - do they know about the spandex fetish?
