I am flying in there tomorrow night. I am looking for a hotel that is in the heart of it all, restaurants, bars, etc, has anyone been there and have any ideas?

Going to the town or Cedar Point? If you dont have reservations already, it might be an issue. Place is busy during the summer.

going to the town to spend the night. We are flying to Put in Bay during the day and then overnight in Sandusky. Just looking for something where there will be things to do.

Been a few years but stayed at a Comfort Inn on Cleveland Rd just down from the airport. It was stumbling/walking distance from a few drinking establishments. Not sure if you are with clients or not. There is also a decent steak place further down towards town.

I flew in there a couple weeks ago on a trip to Cedar Point. They were pretty busy that day, as they were giving rides on a Ford Tri-motor, but I didn't have any problems finding a parking spot. I was charged a $35 ramp fee, but it included a shuttle ride to/from Cedar Point, so I'm not sure how much it is overnight. You might want to call on that. It's a nice family-owned airport with a diner inside the terminal. Have fun! Oh, and as stated before, forget about using 18/36.
