The San Bernardino County Sheriff's office has a king air and some support vehicles in one of the large hangars. We have used that hangar to house several of our airships for their annual inspections.

Very strange place indeed.

Seeing as UPS and FedEx have almost half the airport to themselves and practically have their own runway, I don't see any logic behind that really. Unless they wanted to expand upon the existing ONT service with a few flights to SBD.

FedEx is so so but UPS has a huge operation at ONT. Like you say they they pretty much have their own runway. SBD was foolish to think they would move.

Instrument approaches into KSBD are crappy as heck because of mountains to the north and east. I guess you land with a tail wind if you need an approach.

ATC nightmare, both ONT and SBD use the same FAF (PETIS) but the traffic is going opposite directions.
