Know of any King Airs that need co-pilots for 135 ops?

Fellow right seater here...
Falcon 20 and Falcon 50.

I'm going to stay around Simuflite for a while.

They have a scholarship fund for right seaters that kicks in after 500 hours of volunteer time.

>> Do stay around awhile, add some more aircraft (1 or 2) and sit in on some special classes if you get the time...

>> Do not let them blow smoke up your butt. They have a scholarship program for those enrolled with Univ (I think UAA members). They don't have a scholarship for right-seaters... You simply have to put your time in and hope that when you do get a lot of time (I've put in nearly 400 hours in almost a year and a half) you talk to the right people on the right day...

You are correct in a few of your thoughts and I think you're on the right track, I'll talk to you more a little later...

gotta go sim right now...:nana2:

I get to choose a type rating in one of these planes: a Citation 5 series, a Beechjet 400 or a Lear 35. I'm picking the Beech because the electrical systems are so close to the King Air. Once a Beech, well you know

Dude get the 35 type. I f I remeber right it's good for the 24, 25, 31, 35, and maybe the 55. Your learning advacned systems now any way. Another electrical system is no big deal. Plus there are probably way more a/c in the lear catagory then there are beechjets. Just a thought any way.

...plus...do you really wanna have to fly a beechjet?

Come to think of it, I agree, the lear is a better plane to get because of the wide array of planes. But that may be a year away. Oh well. I agree, the Beechjet is just one aircraft. Go Chargers!!!!

Although the LRJet type may have more "cool points," the Ce500 type covers more usable aircraft. More Ce500 series are flying than Lears, and half of those Lears (23, 24, 25) aren't being widely used because of RVSM and high operating cost. You are more likely to be hired with 0 time in type in a Citation than you would with 0 time in a Lear.

NJA Cpt is right I didn't see the Citation 5 serires in your original post.

But whats the diference between an old Citation and an old Lear as fas as RVSM. They both have to be retrofitted correct. Or are they not operating the Citation that high? Or is it because more people are choosing to retrofit Citations then Lears? I do agree the 23 and 24 are prety much gone and they have been for a long time. But from what I can tel,l in VNY people are still flying the 25/35 alot. And older A/C that are used for "Life Flight" stuff are RVSM exempt.

It's more cost effective to STC an old Citation than it is an old Lear and the Citation is more fuel efficient to start with. The Citation STC is almost 1/2 the cost of the Lear mod, and in some cases, it is close to the value of the whole airplane.

Haha, yeah, I saw an old Learjet 24D go on eBay for under $200,000 (if I remember correctly). Current 135 and all that jazz, but they're just too expensive to operate. And those aircraft that aren't RVSM compliant, better hope ATC will allow them to get up to 410 or higher quickly, or they're screwed! I'd still like to have one in my private fleet :D

I'll be in Dallas for Lear 45 Initial on the 22nd of January.

From what I've heard, Bombardier is doing the training, but it's in the same building as Simuflite.

We'll see, see some of you there.

Still working for the same company that has the CJ3?

Actually have a new job in Houston, TX.

Going to training for the Lear 45 (we have two 45XR's).

Funny thing is, I won't be able to get my ATP yet. Two PIC types and no ATP because I don't meet the total time requirements. Guess I'll have to get it on my third :D

Hey stuckingfk ever get short handed let me know. Don't have my type but went through recurrent last year at Flight Saftey and have been flying the 45 about 200hrs part time in the last year and a half or so. It's a great plane and a Houston based one is perfect. Almost any where in North America/Mexico is non stop for you guys.

Have fun,

That's great, congrats! I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm holding off on school this spring until I get 1500 hours so I can get the type and ATP on the same ride. Our company at one point was considering two 45XR's but I guess that's gone to the wayside. We've been told a "new" plane is in the budget, so we'll see what happens!
