Does anyone have any experiences buying avionics on ebay or such?
Looking for general experiences of buying these kind of things online, instead of buying them from a big name store, or Joe Shmo at the airport who buys them from who knows where.
I'm looking to replace a KLN 89B GPS unit that is panel installed in an aircraft.
The GPS developed some problem....possibily in the computer board itself, or in the internal battery.
So the wires, antenna, and such are in the plane still and ready to go.
Just the panel unit doesnt power on anymore, and was tested by a shop tech. He said that it would be better off to just get a replacement, rather than the money to fix the current one.
Just looking for a swap out and slide a different one in kind of setup. No other parts/wires/etc required.
Ebay has a few that are all over the place in price 450-1150, which i'm told is outrageously high, and based on what was paid for the current unit, i can attest to that.
