To the blanket statement that King Air SIC's can't log anything, while true under Pt. 91, 135 is a different bowl of cereal. As long as OpSpecs require it and the SIC has a 135 checkride, the SIC time is loggable and legit.
Uh, nope, that's not how it works. Refer to the discussion earlier or read the Nichols interpretation.
It's not that you're wrong, but how you got there is.

I guess I'll need clarification then. I'm about to do a 135 SIC ride for an operation with 2 C90's. It's in the op-specs and everything is operated IFR. As long as we don't use the AP, I was fairly certain I can log the time as SIC. Sole manipulator and logging pic is an area I'm still not as clear on.

Technically, what's in the opspecs will be approval to operate under 135.105. You're a required crew member when carrying passengers operating under instrument flight rules. Even as sole manipulator you are not allowed to log PIC when operating under 135, and based on your POI that will likely include repo legs with the possible exception of a repo back to base as the last leg of the day.

The nichols interpretation posted in this thread does a really good job explaining it. Assuming your company has the opspec to have an A/P in lieu of SIC, the operator must decide that it will not be used(and it is not used), or you cannot log the SIC time.
The opspecs are not what is requiring an SIC for 135 IFR pax work. The FARs require an SIC. The opspecs allow you to use 135.105 to not have the SIC. The default is to require 2 pilots. However, if you have relief the operator must chose not to use that relief for an SIC to still log the time.

Thanks for the clarification.

Lots of legal talk here.

In regards to the OCONUS ISR work in KingAirs. I am not sure what part they operate under, so as a general rule, can SICs in one of those gigs log the flight time? I was talking about sandbox options with the Mrs. yesterday, and one of the selling points for me is the logged flight time. Just interested to know if I am making false assumptions.

Regards~

They generally do not operate under the FARs at all.

Generally yes...
Rgr. As long as I can log flight time it is a gig that is still on the table. Thx

This conversation seems to crop up ever six months or so. Generally, you can log your flight time and yes, doing so is accepted by the airlines et al.

If you meet the minimums, and want to fly ISR, apply.
