King Schools CFI DVDs

I bought them and they were Ok. It did not help knowledge wise, but it helped a little when it came to the teaching part. John has some good simple explanations for certain things, and the DPE does give you what the examiner is looking for. It does not cover all the material on the oral but gives you what you are most likely to encounter. The inflight portion didn't really help me much.
The money back guarantee actually works... unfortunately....
My overall impression- it was worth it once I got my money back :P

That's funny considering the failure rate is somewhere in the high 90% for failing. How do you prove to them you failed? A copy of your pink slip or something? Thanks for the info.

In my opinion save the $120 and stick to the PTS. When you can go through each of the tasks, reference the materials, and meet the objectives you'll be good to go.

I purchased them, and watched them both several times. I watched them again after I passed my CFI ride, and realized that very little, (read as almost nothing) that was on thosed DVD's was asked of me on my 3.5 hour oral, or 2.2 hour flight. In hindsight, I STRONGLY echo Jayrock. Take every element of every task in the PTS, (Private and Commercial PTS's also) and make sure you can speak on each of them.

Bottom line, there aren't any shortcuts. I hoped the DVD's would fill in any gaps in my training/ studying, but I certainly did not get 120$ worth out of them. Go spend 15$ for all three PTS's. :rawk:
