First of all 4000TT for a King Air pilot? Please. Not to mention they only want 500 turbine? What good is a 4000 hour pilot with only 500 turbine? Especially when you can have 2500TT with 1500 turbine, or some other BETTER combo?

Seems strange to me...........

I would not call 500 hours of turbine time very experienced.

Your probably right.
Since I don't have that at the moment, I would call it very experienced, but a few years from, I am sure I will not.

I second that. I see "500 turbine" and think "HOLY CRAP that's a lot!".

But, I guess it's all perspective.

When the HR people post these minimums there can be several different scenarios.

1) They really mean it! They don't want anyone with less.
2) They got some numbers from an insurance company and are not quite sure what they are looking for.
3) They set the bar high and realize they will get resumes of pilots with somewhat less than requirements.

If you are near the minimums you might consider submitting a resume. For example, if you don't have 4000tt but you have a bunch of turbine, you might give it a shot.

Or, if you have 2 years experience flying a pressurized recip - like a 414 for example, you might also qualify.

It's always a risk, because you never know if your resume will be welcome or not.

But life is risk

And we all know what happens to pilots that submit resumes without meeting the requisite time requirements....
