Doc,

If you have occasions of Kidney Stones and Depth Perception (eye) problems, could that affect your employability at a major airline? if you needed/wanted to keep your medical, wouldn't you just get a SODA?

neither one of those is disqualifying is it?

Question 2 first. If there is a depth perception problem, one can get a SODA by demonstating they can determine depth appropriately. If they cannot, they will have troubles landing:eek: .

Question 1 - a single episode of kidney stones is not a problem although one needs to produce adeuate medical records regarding the stone. Stones are disqualifying unless the evaluation criteria are met. Multiple episodes (either several stones or retained stones) require a Special Issuance then the AME can issues after that if the airman meets FAA criteria.
