Kidney stone: so now what?

(This is a follow-up to my question in this thread, which some overzealous mod got a little lock-happy on before I could ask.)

Ok, so I've self-grounded per 61.53, now what? I've been given no indication that the stone found in the CT is on the move or will be passed anytime soon (I was being seen for a high fever and accompanying lower abdominal pain--which were deemed viral in cause and have since subsided), so what do I have to do to get cleared to fly again?

I'm unemployed and don't have insurance, so endless consults with specialists, workups and re-imaging isn't in the cards.

Without a medical, I can't get a job, so I'm kinda screwed until I get this resolved.
 
The Doc knows way more than me but I am pretty sure if you get a current scan showing all your stone is still in the kidney and not in the ureter you might be ok.
 
Get a current plain abdominal X-ray showing where the stone is and submit the information to the FAA. Send a statement that you have no symptoms of the stone.
 
Ok, thanks doc. I did talk to AOPA's medical desk, they said that due to the size of the stone (5mm, according to the radiologist's CT report), it's unlikely the FAA will clear me til it passes or I get lithotripsy or something.
