Key Lime Air is hiring!!

hhhhmmmmm????

....Key lime air has two first officer program options. The first is the piston twin program flown in the Piper Navajo. The second is the turboprop program, flown in Metro II, Metro III, and the Metro 23. Both of these programs allow you the flexibility to purchase flight time in either 100 or 250 hour blocks to suit your individual needs and financial means. In addition, the Piper Navajo program is available in 50 hour blocks, and the metroliner program is available in 350 hour blocks. SIC candidates should anticipate flying 50 hours per month in any of our programs. During your program, you may be rotated through our route structure so you will experience the many unique challenges and conditions that our flying environment has to offer.

Armen... you've been on this site long enough to know that Key Lime is about the same as a PFJ company right? at least i thought so... there have been so many related threads that point out Key Lime specifically...

Haha, I remember some time back a buddy of mine was all stoked about it and it caught my interest. After I actually checked out the website I couldn't believe it, the low of all lows. Not only do you pay for the time, but you pay for the time while you are WORKING for them.

Hey, if anyone is interested I'm hiring a recruiter in training for help me find A&Ps, Engineers, Interiors, and General Management for MROs, FBO, Aircraft Manufacturers, and Flight Departments nation wide. You promise me a solid 50 hours a week and you will pay me $500 a week for the "on-the-job training". Oh, and after about 12-18 months with me you'd qualify for job placement assistance at one of my fine competitors who will love the experience you gained. Any takers. Ha-ha!

If a company like Key Lime Air or any similar scam ever contacted me and decided to pay me 1/3 of base salary for A&Ps, Management, or any other employee associated with them I would tell them NEVER (well, probably I'd say something much worse to them but they would get the point). I do not mind a PFT Flight School as the best way for some people to get their training if they feel that is the best way for them (PFT here being pay me to train you and then I will guarentee you a job if you pass the training but that job will actually give you a legit salary... not working for free or paying the company for every hour you work!).

Any company who makes you pay once you are fully trained with your flight ratings, I will never be affiliated with such a company. I understand paying for a type rating as a condition of employment like Southwest use to do, some others done, and even some corporate flight ops do today. I am a business man myself and to me that still is technically training to qualify for the job you are applying. On the other hand, I am glad that practice has almost completely stopped. But I absolutely beleive it crosses the line when you flat out make someone pay for an actual job. This is not a time building program since you are actually flying for hire, yet the company makes you pay! WTF is about all I can say here, and that's keeping it nice.

I proudly sign my name here telling Key Lime and any other company who makes a fully trained employees pay for every hour they work as an employee of thier company to crash and burn. I hope you all go out of business. Oh, and a word for any management professional at such a company who supports this practice. Don't bother ever applying to a job at any of my more than 100 client companies around the country through me. You lost one of the best FREE resources available to advance your career, me. I will NEVER represent you to my clients. I hope you remain unemployed (if not working when you apply to me). Or I hope you remain with a crap company like this that borders on unethical business practices and degrades your own indusrty since I do not want to take any chance that you would ever spread this disease of a business practice to a subsequent company you work for.

Honest to God I did not know that, you guys are more than welcome to delete the thread. I am sorry but hey I learned something new today!!

Hey folks starting off I totally agree about PFT jobs, but just for heads up this particular position is legit my buddy just got hired on there and they are paying him for training and he'll be PIC in a matter of weeks after 135 check ride.

Yes, and he'll be babysitting for his entire career there! Also, they do not have the best reputation for work environment or maintenance, so tell your buddy to have fun.

Oh yeah, there are some who will see Key Slime on the resume, and even though he did not pay for time there, will still toss his resume out for being associated with them. Look at anybody at Gulfstream, PFJ or not, and how they are treated. Key Slime is the same way.

Just curious where people get all that info? It to me sounds like a cool gig, for midd/low timers who can get hired on, not pay to sit and work radios. But i am just starting to learn about them.

:yeahthat: ??? Key Slime blows goats. They are a local company and I know folks who have worked for them and know their managment. Bad news.

I'm especially fond of this seal of approval:

Thank goodness! Can you imagine if a 121 carrier boasted that they're "FAA approved?" Yikes.

I don't know much about the company itself, but I have talked to a current pilot for Key Lime, he said that he really liked his job. I don't believe he was a part of the multi time building program though. He started as a Navajo captain.

Just like Gulfstream. Before i came to Jetcareers i looked into Gulfstream Air charter callsign "friendly" There part of gulfstream connection. They said you have 1500 TT to fly najvajos on there runs to the bahamas and cuba. But was told if your low time you cain join our "academy" hahah what a joke. I wonder how many people actually pay 28,000 to fill that right seat. So gulfstream never hires anybody that does not pay 28,000. They never hire people looking to get paid to fly for them. Sad Sad operation.
